Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats proudly announce the schedule for the seventh annual High School Challenge, a month-long spotlight on prep baseball that will include 23 games featuring 42 different teams at U. S. Steel Yard this spring.
The RailCats have hosted the High School Challenge every season since 2003, and in fact the first baseball game at U. S. Steel Yard was part of the inaugural challenge. Since that time, the event has been held each spring and included some of the best teams and student-athletes from the Region.
The 2009 edition of the High School Challenge will begin Friday, April 10 and run through Saturday, May 9. The majority of the games will take place on either Friday evenings or Saturdays, with the last week of games coinciding with the opening of RailCats Spring Training.
Media interested in covering any High School Challenge games should contact Andy Viano at 219.822.2255 or aviano@railcatsbaseball.com to reserve credentials or broadcast space.
