Raiders Training Camp To Begin Tomorrow Night

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 4, 2008)- Defending the 2007 Continental Indoor Football League Championship will begin tomorrow night when the Rochester Raiders start training camp at All-Star Sports Arena on East Ridge Road in Rochester, NY beginning at 9:30pm.
"Its going to be a great year," commented Raiders co-owner David McCarthy, "We have an extremely talented group of guys coming in to camp. It's going to be tough. Our staff is going to make sure our team is in great shape and ready to go by the start of the season."
The 2008 Raiders will be returning a vast majority of their CIFL Championship team from last year and have added some talented players across the board that will be vying for roster spots and playing time this coming season. Maurice Jackson, Mike Mikolaichik, Adam Lanctot and J.J Gibson are all key players from last season that will be returning to defend their rings. Key additions to the Raiders in 2008 are wide receivers Robert Reed and Darryl Frager, running back Felix Joyner from Hilton High School, tight end TJ Cottrell, son of current San Diego Chargers Defensive Coordinator Ted Cottrell, and line backer Brenton Brady, a graduate of Marshall High School.
The Raiders have a preseason game scheduled for March 3 against the Rock River Raptors in Rockford, IL. The Raptors will be entering their first year in the CIFL previously having been a member of the United Indoor Football League (UIF). The Raiders will kick off their 2008 season March 21 when they visit the Chesapeake Tide and will have their home opener at the Blue Cross Arena the following week March 29 against the Lehigh Valley Outlawz at 2:00pm. Season Tickets are currently on sale at the Blue Cross Arena and through Ticketmaster at a cost of $60 for the entire season, individual tickets will not be available until February and will be $15 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under.
