
Raiders Surrender Lead in Loss to ICE

Cranbrook, BC - The Prince Albert Raiders (8-34-3-2) were unable to hold a two-goal lead in a 6-3 loss to the Kootenay ICE (11-27-7-1) on Wednesday night in Cranbrook, BC at Western Financial Place.
Early in the first, the Raiders opened the scoring. Zack Hayes scored his first career WHL goal at the 1:48 mark of the frame to make it a 1-0 game.
That score held until the 3:04 mark of the second when Adam Kadlec converted a nifty spinning pass from Kolby Johnson to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead. The ICE responded shortly after to begin a stretch of three consecutive goals by the home team. Brett Davis got Kootenay on the board with a power-play marker, then Noah Philp and Max Patterson scored to give the ICE a 3-2 lead after two periods.
In the third, Jordy Stallard tapped in a back-door pass from Max Martin to tie the game at 3-3. The ICE responded with two goals in quick succession midway through the period from Peyton Krebs and Colton Kroeker. Patterson added an empty-net goal to round out the scoring.
Ian Scott finished the game with 20 saves in the loss for the Raiders. Payton Lee stopped 39 shots for the ICE.
The Raiders continue their road trip on Friday night in Red Deer against the Rebels. Game time is 8 p.m.
The next home game is on Friday, January 27 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Canada 150 Night. The Raiders will wear commemorative jerseys featuring the pictures of he three Prime Ministers with ties to Prince Albert.
