
Rafters Theme Nights Set for 2013

Wisconsin Rapids, WI-Wednesday, April 18th. The Rafters have been unveiling their promotional schedule for the 2013 season during the month of April. The team is set to host some exciting acts as well as theme nights throughout the summer.
The Rafters are partnering with Paper City Savings to bring in one of the best entertainment acts in baseball, the ZOOperstars!. The ZOOperstars! are a traveling act that puts on crowd-pleasing between-inning skits, similar to the Inflatamanics. Their characters include; Harry Canary, Roger Clamens, Cow Ripken, Jr. and more. The ZOOperstars! will be performing during the Rafters game on Thursday, June 27th against the Eau Claire Express.
Assumption Catholic Schools Night will be Wednesday, June 5th when the Rafters play host to the Madison Mallards. Wear blue and show off your Royal pride as the Assumption High School marching band performs through the night.
Summertime St. Patty's night will return on Thursday, June 13th as the Rafters take on the Mallards. The Rafters will don green uniforms that will be available for auction during the game. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Wisconsin Rapids Boys and Girls Club. This night is made possible by Advanced Disposal. This night will also feature green beer, Irish music and "Going Green" recycling promotions and tips.
Bring your dad to the Saturday, June 15th game as the Rafters partner with Bull's Eye Credit Union to celebrate Father's Day a one day early. After the game all fathers and kids will have the opportunity to go on the field and play catch. Father and kid combos will receive Bull's Eye Credit Union and Rafters baseballs after the game.
Do you like magic? Join the Rafters on June 18th and be prepared to be astounded by Magician James David. James has performed from Los Angeles to New York and throughout the Midwest. His versatility in street and stage magic makes him one of the hottest rising acts in the industry. The Rafters will also have an animal balloon artist on site for kids attending the game. This night is all made possible by the Arts Council of South Wood County. The Arts Council is the performing arts connection to professional dance, theater, comedy, music, and extraordinary entertainment at the Performing Arts Center of Wisconsin Rapids.

U-Rah-Rah UW-SP! That's right, for the second year in a row we will be highlighting University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point current students and alumni. Wear your purple and gold and show your Pointer pride on Tuesday, July 16th when the Rafters face the Green Bay Bullfrogs.
The August of 1983 was the last year the Wisconsin Rapids Twins played at Witter Field. The Rafters have celebrated the Twins each season by celebrating "Turn Back the Clock Night". This year's "Turn Back the Clock" Night will again be presented by Fey Printing. For the first time, the Rafters will wear vintage white Twins uniforms that will be available for silent auction. In addition to the uniforms the Rafters will be giving away commemorative Twins programs. This marks the 30th year since the Twins last played at Witter Field.
Renaissance Learning is a great community partner, focusing on accelerating K-12 learning with their nationally acclaimed products to help make classrooms and schools better places to teach and learn. Wednesday, July 31st will be Renaissance Learning Night at the ballpark, a night of appreciation for all of their staff.
Saturday, August 3rd will be McCain Foods Night. Join the McCain Foods staff and enjoy potato and French fry specials all night. In addition to McCain Foods Night, the Rafters will also be partnering with the Army National Guard to present Military Appreciation Night. The team will honor current and veteran military members throughout the evening, and by presenting the colors prior to the game and featuring "God Bless America" in the 7th inning.
Marshfield Clinic Cancer Awareness Night will be Sunday, August 4th. The Rafters will wear pink uniforms that will be available for silent auction that evening. All proceeds from the auction will go towards cancer research. Marshfield Clinic, don't just live, shine!

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are members of the 16-team summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate League in North America. In 2013 the Northwoods League will celebrate its 20th season. Opening Day at historic Witter Field is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29th at 7:05 pm against the Lakeshore Chinooks.
