Racing Louisville FC will play a series of challenging preseason matches ahead of the 2023 campaign, the club announced Friday, including at least two exhibitions against fellow National Women's Soccer League teams.

Racing began team training on Jan. 25, building toward next week's trip to Florida. While there, Racing will play the Washington Spirit on Friday, Feb. 10.

Eight days later on Saturday, Feb. 18, Racing will meet Chicago Red Stars in Indianapolis.

Continuing its tradition of playing the University of Louisville, Racing will take on the Cardinals on Feb. 26 in the Derby City.

Louisville also expects to play additional exhibition matches against NWSL competition. Details will be provided at a later date.

Fans can follow along with preseason games via the club's social media accounts, where any live streaming details will be posted if available.

The regular season will kick off on March 25, with Racing's sights set on challenging for an NWSL playoff spot and top-six finish.

Louisville made several impressive additions in the offseason, trading for decorated NWSL defenders Abby Erceg and Carson Pickett and versatile winger/defender Paige Monaghan. What's more, the club signed Nigerian star Uchenna Kanu, Brazilian national team regular Ary Borges and Finnish defender Elli Pikkuyämsä, and former African player of the year Thembi Kgatlana, signed last summer, arrived in January.

Racing extended contracts for key foundational pieces, too, including goalkeeper Katie Lund, multi-position Lauren Milliet and midfielders Savannah DeMelo and Jaelin Howell. Australian international Alex Chidiac, Chinese star Wang Shuang and former first-round NWSL draft pick Emina Ekic are all back, too, along with the highly-accomplished Jess McDonald.

Racing finished the 2022 campaign on a high, winning three of its final four matches, including a 1-0 victory in the regular-season finale against the Kansas City Current, the eventual NWSL runner-up.

Louisville's season will play out over seven months, concluding in mid-October. A full schedule is pending, with season, group and premium tickets on sale now by visiting RacingLouFC.com/tickets.
