Racing, OL Reign Trade for Heath's Playing Rights
June 16, 2022 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
Racing Louisville FC News Release
Racing Louisville FC has agreed to a trade sending forward Tobin Heath's NWSL playing rights to OL Reign, the clubs announced Thursday.
In exchange, Racing received $50,000 in allocation money along with two 2023 NWSL Draft picks: a second-round selection OL Reign previously acquired from Angel City FC as well as OL Reign's natural fourth-round pick.
The deal comes not long after the NWSL transfer window reopened on June 1.
Racing originally selected the 34-year-old Heath's playing rights from Portland Thorns FC during the 2020 NWSL Expansion Draft. At the time, Heath was playing for England's Manchester United. She spent this past season with Arsenal.
