THURSDAY'S RECAP

Right wing Francois Bouchard scored the game-winning goal at 10:38 of the overtime period to give the Hershey Bears the 3-2 overtime victory over the Manchester Monarchs in game five of the 2010 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Final at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Thursday night. With the victory, the Bears now possess a 3-2 series lead with game six in Hershey on Saturday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. Left wing Bud Holloway and defenseman Jacob Muzzin found the back of the net for the Monarchs. Along with Bouchard's game-winning goal, center Kyle Wilson and left wing Chris Bourque scored for the Bears. Monarchs goaltender Jonathan Bernier (10-5) drew his fifth loss of the playoffs, stopping 32-of-35 shots on net. Bears netminder Michal Neuvirth (9-2) collected his ninth win of the post-season, halting 27-of-29 shots. Manchester went 2-for-3 on the power play. Hershey was 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

Bears Edge Monarchs In OT, 3-2, Now One Win From finals - Union Leader

Hershey took a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference finals with a 3-2 overtime win over the Monarchs in front of 2,803 fans at Verizon Wireless Arena last night. Francois Bouchard scored the game-winner at 10:38 of overtime.

STANLEY CUP UPDATE

Former Monarchs center Michael Cammalleri continued his scoring prowess with his NHL-leading 13th goal in the Montreal Canadiens 5-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night. The Flyers lead the series 2-1 with game four scheduled for Saturday, May 22.

MONARCHS CALDER CUP FUN FACTS

Rookie Power - Rookie defensemen Jacob Muzzin and Thomas Hickey are bringing some offense to the Monarchs line-up. In Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss, Muzzin recorded his first professional goal and Hickey picked up an assist on each of Manchester's goals.

Leading The Way - Left wings Chris Bourque and Alexandre Giroux are leading the way for both the Hershey Bears and the AHL. Bourque has 22 points (7-15=22) in 14 games and Giroux has picked up 20 points (11-9=20) this post-season.

Game Six - The Monarchs are 3-3 in game six situations throughout the team's post-season history. The most recent game six that Manchester found themselves playing in was in the pervious series against the Worcester Sharks where the Monarchs won 2-1 in overtime.
