Race for Playoffs Comes Down to 10/30
October 27, 2021 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Oakland Roots News Release
Just like the Town they represent, Oakland Roots showed inspiring resilience this past Sunday, earning a 4-3 win in San Diego and forcing the USL Playoff race to come down to the last day of the regular season. Down a man, and needing a win to keep their Playoff hopes alive, Jeremy Bokila stepped up to the penalty spot to score the game winning goal in extra time.
This Saturday, October 30th, at 7:00 PM PST Roots are back home at Laney College facing Sporting Kansas City II with a Playoff spot on the line. A Roots win, coupled with a loss or draw from LA Galaxy II, would mean Roots reaching the Playoffs in their first season as a part of the USL Championship.
The evening will include:
A special pre-game performance by Oakland, Bay Area based artist Ruby Red. Get to the game early and don't miss out.
Goalsetter and the Fam1st Family Foundation will be working with 100 youth and families to help start their path to financial freedom.
The first 500 kids in the stadium with a Halloween costume will receive free ice cream, courtesy of Little Giant Ice Cream.
Visit the Small Biz of the Match Marketplace (Presented by American Express) to meet local vendors and try small batch products.
Don't miss out on this historic moment, secure your tickets before they sell out.
