June 29, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
West Texas Roughnecks News Release
ODESSA, TX. After finishing 14-0 on the field and amongst the top in NIFL attendance, the undefeated Odessa Roughnecks look to host up to four post-season games in Odessa including the league championship, the Indoor Bowl. A week later, the team will play host to the best the NIFL has to offer in the first-ever NIFL All-Star Classic.
Playing for Pride: So that leaves the upcoming week to prepare and sharpen up while the Roughnecks represent the Permian Basin in the West Texas Whatacup! A game scheduled prior to the season and played for pride, the West Texas Whatacup, presented by Whataburger, looks to be an annual battle between the three teams of West Texas, San Angelo, Odessa, and Lubbock. Like any Roughnecks game, fans in attendance on Friday can see great football with promotions, fireworks, giveaways, and more! There will be a post-game presentation awarding the beautiful Whatacup trophy created by Got To Specialties in Odessa. This contest completes the 8-game regular season as promised to fans during the IFL tenure.
A Little Something Extra: One randomly selected fan at Friday's game will have the opportunity to kick a series of field goals for their chance at winning TWO Brand New Cars from Kelly Grimsley Auto Group in Odessa! Every paying fan in attendance will have a shot at this opportunity as a ticket stub is drawn and a blessed fan attempts to win over $40,000 in vehicles at half-time!
Further information on these topics, along with ticket information can be obtained by calling (432) 332-PASS (7277) or by logging onto the team's website at www.RoughnecksNIFL.com.
