Qwinnett Majic Announce Opening Night Roster

The Gwinnett Majic, the defending champions of the World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA), have annouced their opening night roster as well as the guest coach for their season opener against the Franklin (Tenn.) Knights tonight at 7 p.m. at Berkmar High in Lilburn.

The Majic's active roster features six returnees, led by last year's Most Valuable Player B.J. Puckett. He is joined by fellow first team All-WBA pick Adrian Penland, second-team all-league selection Javon Randolph, Adrian Borders, Mike Sloan and Reggie Anderson. Two of the Majic's three inactive players, Marcus Brown and Wayne Arnold, are returning second-team All-WBA selections as well.

Gwinnett's guest coach for the season opener is former Berkmar High basketball standout Clark Williams. He was the leading scorer on Berkmar High's state championship teams in 2000 and 2001 and the Georgia State University graduate is now a sports writer for the Gwinnett Daily Post newspaper. Williams will be the guest coach on the Majic's Gwinnett County Teacher Appreciation Night, where all Gwinnett County teachers will receive free admission to the game and be recognized during the contest as well.

After tonight's season opener, the Majic will host the Decatur Court Kings at Meadowcreek High in Norcross starting at 6 p.m. That game, which will feature guest coach Liz Carter - a candidate in Georgia's 4th U.S. Congressional District - is Gwinnett County Police Force Appreciation Night. All Gwinnett County policemen will get into the game for free and be recognized.
