Quiroz to Tacoma, Savastano and Oliveros to Jaxx

PEARL, MS. (May 17, 2010) - The Seattle Mariners announced the following roster moves that effects the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx roster. Prior to tonight's game against Mississippi, catcher Guillermo Quiroz has been promoted to Triple-A Tacoma. Quiroz will meet the Rainiers in Memphis, TN for their game tonight against the Redbirds. Catcher, Luis Oliveros who was promoted to Tacoma on Sunday has been sent back down to West Tenn. Also, the Jaxx add utility infielder, Scott Savastano from High-A High Desert. Qurioz was hitting .357 for the Jaxx in 23 games. He hit three homers and drove in 13 runs. Quiroz was currently on a seven game hitting streak at the time of his call-up to Tacoma. Oliveros is hitting .313 with two homers and five RBI in 11 games.

Scott Savastano, a 2008 draft pick by the Mariners from Plymouth, PA was hitting .318 with two homeruns and 14 RBI with the High Desert Mavericks. Savistana was primarily a first baseman and DH for the Mavs. In 2008 for the Low-A Clinton Lumberkings, Savastano appeared at seven different positions.
