New Jersey Jackals News Release
The Quebec Capitales blew out the New Jersey Jackals in Game one of Friday's double header by a score of 13-1.
Quebec put a seven spot on the board in the top of the second inning off of Jackal's starter Brendan Butler after walking the bases loaded. The inning was highlighted by a bases clearing triple from Stayler Hernandez that made the score 6-0.
Quebec proceeded to scored four runs in the 3rd and two in the 4th to complete their scoring for the game.
The Jackals only scored one run on a solo home run by Isaac Wenrich in the 5th inning.
David Salguiero led the Quebec offense, going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Arik Sikula got the win for the Capitales, going six innings four hits, one run and four strikeouts.
The Jackals fell to the Capitales in the second game of their double header Friday night.
After a crushing 1-13 loss in the first game, the Jackals showed signs of life in the second game in the bottom of the first with a two run home run hit by first baseman Conrad Gregor. Unfortunately that was the only pair of runs scored for the Jackals in the game.
The Capitales brought the heat when third baseman Jesse Hodges hit a bases clearing triple, bringing them up 0-3 early in the top of the first. Hodges and right fielder Rian Kiniry added to the team's lead by crossing the plate in the top of the fourth.
2-5 was the final score of the seven inning double header finale. Jackals get another chance at victory tomorrow night at 6pm.
