AUGUSTA, N.J. - Quebec scored three runs in the top of the ninth to come from behind to beat the Sussex Skyhawks 10-9 on Wednesday at Skylands Park. Trailing 9-7 going into the inning, the Capitales took advantage of two Skyhawk errors to plate three unearned runs and complete the series sweep.
With the score tied and runners on first and second, Josh Colafemina hit a ground ball to third baseman Kyle Kmiecik, who fired to second for the force, but the ball kicked off second baseman Chris Brown's glove and into right field. Ivan Naccarata scored from second with the eventual game-winner.
Jason Schutt earned the win for Quebec after throwing 1 1/3 innings of relief. Sandy Nin took the loss for Sussex.
Pete LaForest drove in four runs and Naccarata went 3-for-5 for Quebec. Chris Brown drove in six runs for Sussex, including a three-run inside the park homerun.
