SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH LUCHI GONZALEZ
On tonight's performance against St. Louis CITY SC:
"First of all, I am proud of the guys. We had nine-match win streak at home, and we are really proud of that. We thank our fans for giving us energy to push in every game here at home. We always represent ourselves at a high level by pushing intensity. Tonight didn't go our way. We lost, and we are disappointed. We got back into the game in the second half. We had a great response to their goal on the set piece. We got composed at half-time and came out aggressive, intense, and attacking-minded. We created our first goal, and I was really confident we were going to turn the game around. Credit to St. Louis, they are an efficient team. Now we have to bounce back."
On preparing for the Cali Clasico next weekend:
"We want to win every game and show our best in every moment, home or away. Now we have the LA Galaxy up next. After this game I am glad to learn lessons on the things we can improve and the things we can control. We own it, we can work on it in training, and do something about it against the Galaxy."
SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES MIDFIELDER JACK SKAHAN
On tonight's match:
"At the end of the game we were pushing the score to tie the game. Their goalkeeper made some really good saves. He's a really good player. St. Louis has done a really good job in their first year. I think a few teams in the past 4-5 years have maybe been given a bit of a model to do that. St. Louis has done it well. They have good players, they have an identity, and they've gotten some good results.'
On playing different positions in the midfield:
"I'm a winger and a center midfielder. I played as a winger in college four years. I played here as a center mid for three years. I can play both."
