Rancho had some late inning heroics for the second game in a row as the Quakes tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a two run home run by Flint Wipke to bring the score to 6-5. After a double by Drew Toussaint, Peter Bourjos singled with two outs to score Toussaint from second to tie the game 6-6.

David Herndon came in to close the door on the Mavs in the ninth as he allowed a couple base runners, but the Quakes defense picked him up with an outfield assist by Bourjos at third and a caught stealing, the fourth of the game by Wipke, then a ground out to short to end the game.

The Quakes have clinched at least a series split with the Mavericks and will send wins leader Sean O'Sullivan to the hill for Saturday night's game against left hander Donny Hume of High Desert. Game time is scheduled for 7:05pm.
