Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Lancaster, CA - The Lancaster JetHawks rallied three different times and held off the Quakes on Saturday night, defeating Rancho by a score of 6-5 at The Hangar.

Rancho blew three different leads and let the eventual winning run score on a dropped fly ball, ending their brief two-game winning streak.

Logan Landon's two-run homer broke a 3-3 tie, giving the Quakes a 5-3 lead over Lancaster starter Logan Longwith.

That lead didn't hold though, as reliever Ryan Moseley struggled with his command and allowed a two-run double with two outs to Forrest Wall, which evened the game at 5-5. Moseley appeared to get the next batter to preserve a tie game, but Alan Trejo's routine fly ball to center field went in and out of the glove of Donovan Casey, giving the JetHawks a 6-5 lead.

Rancho went in order over the final three innings, as Alexander Guillen (1-0), Justin Lawrence and Reid Humphreys finished it off, with Humphreys earning his fifth save.

Landon tripled home the first run of the game, as he finished with a season-best three RBIs on the night. Rancho also got a homer from Cristian Santana, his second of the series and fourth of the year, which gave the Quakes a 3-1 lead in the third inning.

Rancho starter Jordan Sheffield was chased one batter into the fifth, after throwing 86 pitches. He allowed three runs on six hits over four-plus innings in the no-decision.

The Quakes (11-12) are now one game back of Lancaster, as they enter the final game of the series on Sunday at 2:05pm. Tony Gonsolin (0-1) takes on Lancaster's Brandon Gold (3-1) in the finale.

On Monday night, the Quakes return to LoanMart Field to host the Modesto Nuts for four straight games.  Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field very soon...Go Quakes!
