
Quad City's Lipsett Named IHL Most Sportsmanlike Player

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Wednesday that Quad City right wing Chris Lipsett has been named the 2009-10 IHL Most Sportsmanlike Player as selected by league head coaches, general managers and members of the media.
Since signing with the Mallards this past offseason, the 35-year-old Ottawa, Ontario native has recorded 26 goals and 34 assists for a total of 60 points in 70 games so far this season. His 60 points rank him second on the Mallards roster in scoring. In his 70 games played so far this season, Lipsett has only accumulated 20 minutes in penalties.
The 6-0, 187-pound right wing recorded a season-high four points on New Year's Eve, scoring two goals and dishing out two assists in the Mallard's 6-1 win over the Muskegon Lumberjacks. He has racked up a total of 14 multi-point contests, including five three-point nights.
The14-year pro played his 800th career game back on February 29th against Bloomington. He tallied one goal for the Mallards in the game, helping push Quad City to an 8-4 win over the PrairieThunder. Lipsett had nine multi-game point streaks this season, with the longest being seven games. The seven-game streak lasted from February 17th to February 28th, where he recorded four goals and three assists during that stretch.
Lipsett will be presented the award on Thursday, April 8th.
