Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
The Quad City Steamwheelers, defending Champions of the IFL's Eastern Conference, have signed running back James Anderson from Southern University at Shreveport.
The signing provides Head Coach Cory Ross' team with a dynamic play-maker to bring balance to the offense. In 2022, the Steamwheelers finished the season ranked 3rd in rushing yards per-game (91.3) and 2nd in rushing yards per-carry (4.8).
Director of Player Personnel Ryan Michael told SteamwheelersFootball.com: "James is an explosive downhill runner. His strength, agility and burst make him difficult to take down, especially in the open field. I'm looking forward to seeing what he brings to camp."
Anderson joins an offense that includes two 2022 IFL All-Rookie selections (Joe Krall and Hunter Nobbs) along with 2x IFL Offensive Player of the Year (2019, 2022), E.J. Hilliard.
"Love his balance and ability to catch the football. He's a very strong runner and uses his vision of the field to make small gains big ones. Very excited to see him in Training camp. " said Steamwheelers Head Coach Cory Ross.
