Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
The Quad City Steamwheelers, defending Champions of the IFL's Eastern Conference, have re-signed defensive back Darreon Jackson.
Jackson was an integral part of the Wheelers success in 2022, finishing the season with 79.5 total tackles (44 solo) and 3 interceptions.
Director of Player Personnel and Defensive Assistant Coach Ryan Michael told SteamwheelersFootball.com: "Darreon provided our secondary with strength and stability week in and week out. He's one of the most physical, athletic and aggressive DBs in the league. He doesn't shy away from contact and he can hit like a linebacker. He averaged nearly 7 tackles per game for us. Can't wait to see what he brings to camp."
The signing further bolsters a very talented secondary, with the Steamwheelers having also signed defensive backs Tajik Bagley, Michael Johnson, Albert Green IV and Tyree Bostick.
"Darreon is pure energy and Attitude . We want to be a defense with Attitude and Energy this season and he fits the build. Happy to have him back for training camp. " said Steamwheelers Head Coach Cory Ross.
