New Orleans VooDoo News Release

NEW ORLEANS (April 30, 2012) - Late last week, intern Jake Weinstock sat down with New Orleans VooDoo OL Adam Durham for this week's VooDoo Question and Answer. Durham has started all six games for the VooDoo on the offensive line.

JAKE WEINSTOCK: Did you have a favorite sports team growing up and why was that your favorite team?

ADAM DURHAM: "I'm worried the fans may not like this too much, but I grew up a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan. That was instilled in me at a very young age by both my father and my Grandfather."

JW: What was your first impression of Coach O'Hara?

AD: "I could tell immediately that he's a players' coach, he's a very down to earth guy."

JW: What's been your most embarrassing moment on the football field?

AD: "Thankfully, I don't think I have one."

JW: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?

AD: "Jerry Rice was always my favorite; those San Francisco teams were fun to watch."

JW: What got you started playing football?

AD: "My dad was really the one that first encouraged me to play, he's been such a tremendously positive influence on my career. He played football through college himself."

JW: For you to improve as a player, you need to do what?

AD: "Everything. There isn't an area where I can't improve."

JW: Did you ever think about quitting for personal reasons or because of injury?

AD: "Not at all, I've always had that burning desire to play. I decided to sit out last season when my son was born, but aside from that, I've never once thought about giving it up."

JW: Who was your favorite Ninja Turtle growing up?

AD: "I was a huge Turtles fan as a kid and although I liked them all, I'll have to say that Michelangelo was my favorite."

JW: Do you have a favorite T.V. show? If so, why is that your favorite?

AD: "Raising Hope is my favorite right now; I really understand what he (Lucas Neff's character Jimmy Chance) goes through, as I have a young child myself. In addition to that, it's always really funny."

JW: Which actor would you like to see play you in a movie?

AD: "I was actually joking with my wife about that the other day and I'd have to say Brad Pitt. Though I'd be interested to see if he's committed enough to the part to put on so much weight that he could pass for me (laughs heavily)".

JW: What's your favorite movie trilogy?

AD: "Rocky, hands down."

JW: Ok, rank all six Rocky movies from best to worst.

AD: "I'll say I, II, III, and then IV. After that there's a pretty big drop-off, but I'll say that VI was better than V. The fifth one was just terrible."

JW: Do you have a nickname, and if so, how'd you get it?

AD: "My friends and teammates all call me 'Big Country' because I'm from Alabama, I have a thick southern accent and I'm not exactly the smallest guy in the world."

JW: What's your favorite food?

AD: I have two: pizza and hamburgers. I have a feeling that my enjoyment of both over the years has contributed to me being a lineman."

JW: What was your greatest moment outside of sports?

AD: "The birth of my son, hands down."

JW: Where is your favorite place to eat in New Orleans and why?

AD: "I really don't have just one favorite, I learned pretty quickly that you can't go wrong down here, it's all good."

JW: What's your favorite non-athletic activity?

AD: "In addition to spending time with my son, I love to play Xbox 360. In fact I'm trying to get my Internet set up right now so I can play Assassin's Creed on Xbox Live."

JW: What's your favorite book?

AD: "The Green Mile. I love the movie version too, but the book was better."

JW: What was your favorite subject in school and why?

AD: "History. I've always been a history buff. Studying history is the best way to learn from past mistakes to try and avoid making the same ones in the future."

JW: Do you have a favorite quote or saying?

AD: "Right On', I say that all the time, and my teammates are always quick to point it out when I do (laughs)."
