
Purdue Infielder Set to Join Chucks

(Wausau) - This weeks featured player hails from Purdue University, and will join the Woodchucks roster for the 2013 season. Brandon Krieg, a sophomore infielder for the Boilermakers, has played in all 18 games so far this season, starting in 17 of them. In those 18 games, Krieg has compiled a .238 average with 1 home run, 7 RBI and 5 stolen bases.
In limited playing time as a freshman, Krieg saw action in 12 games, being used mostly as a pinch runner and a defensive replacement. As a senior at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis he hit .495 with 14 extra-base hits. As a junior he hit .360 and was 18 for 18 on stolen base attempts. Krieg helped lead Lawrence to three consecutive county titles and two Conference Indiana championships.
