Elmira Jackals News Release

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced some exciting promotions scheduled and player updates for their upcoming weekend series against the Kalamazoo Wings at First Arena.

The Elmira Jackals playoff lives are in the balance as the defending Colonial Cup champion Kalamazoo Wings stroll into town for two games, Friday and Saturday night. Although the outcome of both games with the K-Wings will not solely decide Elmira's fate, their chances of post-season action will be greatly increased by points earned against Kalamazoo. Former Jackals captain Brent Cullaton will be back in town this weekend, and while he is currently out of the lineup with an injury, he will still be in the stands to see his former fans.

Elmira's injury front is looking up, as there is a chance that both Mike Oliveira and Yevgeny Lazarev might be healthy enough to rejoin the lineup this weekend. Oliveira has not played since he was injured in his first game for Elmira on February 14th, ironically at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo. Lazarev, who played two months with an injury suffered in December against Port Huron, has not seen action since February 10th against the Chicago Hounds at First Arena.

Friday, March 23rd is Free Puck Night courtesy of Collins & Walton and WETM-TV at First Arena. As the Jackals look to earn their 2nd win of the season against the K-Wings, the Jackals will be giving away free hockey pucks to the first 1,000 fans through the gates. Also on Friday the Corning West High Band will be performing during the game, making their second appearance at a Jackals game this season.

Saturday, March 24th the Jackals and Denerio's Auto Detailing will be giving away a car to one lucky fan in attendance to the game. To qualify for the Car Giveaway, all you have to do is purchase a ticket and attend Saturday's game against Kalamazoo.

The Jackals go head-to-head with the Kalamazoo Wings both Friday and Saturday nights, March 23rd and 24th at First Arena. Face off for both games is scheduled for 7:35 pm.
