Port Huron Prowlers News Release

(Port Huron, MI)- The Prowlers keep their FHL standings in the top 4 with a 7-2 victory against Mentor at home.

Matt Robertson started the scoring less than three minutes into the first period. His goal is the only one that registered. 17 of Cory Simons' 41 saves came in the first 20 minutes.

Declan Conway tied the game at 1, with just under 9 minutes left to go in the middle frame.

But the Prowler offense took over from there.

Four unanswered goals in five of the last nine minutes of the second put the Prowlers on top 5-1 going into the third. Robertson scored two more goals in the middle frame to complete his hat trick. Dalton Jay and Artur Drindrozhik with a goal a piece combined for seven points.

Two more goals netted by Tom Kilgore in the middle part of the third period put the game out of reach and the Prowlers (for now) retain their 4th place spot winning 6 of 9 possible points from Mentor this weekend.

Mentor will go back home to host a weekend series with Carolina. Port Huron is home next weekend with Danville in town on Friday and Saturday and a Sunday afternoon game against the first place Thunderbirds.
