Port Huron Prowlers News Release
Port Huron, MI - Seven different Prowlers would register in the goal column and the Demolition, Louie George-less (without Louie George) struggled and struggled early. Dayton drops their 7th game in a row and 9th straight to the Prowlers. 8-2.
Port Huron would open the scoring in the first period off of the stick of Scott Witmyer who scored the first two goals of the 1st frame although it looked to be Jack Callahan's goal Witmyer got credit for his first multi goal game this season. Brian Soskin would add another goal late in the first Period to let the Prowlers enjoy a 3 goal cushion going into the locker room. With three fights in last Saturday's game, there was not a single minute of penalties served by either team in the first period.
Middle frame the Prowlers really put the pedal to the medal and did not look back. The 2nd period would again feature Prowlers goals only, 4 in the 2nd and 7 unanswered goals from Matt Fuller, Joe Pace, Roger Tagoona and Ahmed Mahfouz consecutively would put the Prowlers up a touchdown and Di'Christofaro would remain a perfect 21 for 21 through 2 periods, he would finish making 27 stops on 29 Dayton attempts at the net.
Mark Rivera would continue his goal streak to 5 games and his 7th in 5 games put the Prowlers on the board for the 8th straight time in the game before the Demolition would finally register a goal. Jacques Lamoureux would corral a rebound off his goalie Brent Troyan that he took coast to coast. With some speed, a gorgeous curl and drag and a quick wrist shot. Lamoureux finally put the Demolition on the board followed shortly by Michael Lipari but it was way little too late and the Prowlers handle Dayton with an 8-2 final.
The Prowlers are 7-2-0-0 against Dayton this season, and they've outscored them 59-29. The two teams face off again tomorrow in Port Huron puck drops at 7:30.
