(Port Huron, MI) Dustin Skinner found twine twice tonight in the game against Dayton. His 2nd goal of the game came with 5 seconds left to go in the third period his goal gives the Prowlers their 6th win in a row and their 10th in a row against the Demolition as they sweep the weekend series with Dayton winning this one 4-3.
First period was all Dayton as they threw 18 shots at the net to the Prowlers 10. The only tally would be Cody Milligan netting a goal on the power play from Harry Mahesh and Michael Lipari with 5 minutes left to go in the first. Then as the puck was about to drop with 20 seconds left to go in the first Julian Fraser his team needed a lift so him and Michael Lipari decided it would be a good time to drop the gloves. Fraser's fight would be the boost his team needed to go into the 2nd period down 1-0.
2nd period was all Prowlers as the would score three unanswered goals Scott Witmyer would again be the first Prowler skater to put his team on the board to tie the game at one a piece, 41 seconds into the 2nd period, but Port Huron didn't stop there. Goals from Justin Alonzo on the power play and Dustin Skinner would give the Prowlers a two goal lead going into the final frame Ahmed Mahfouz would register two assists in the 2nd period.
The Demolition found their legs in the third period as the evaporated a 2 goal deficit with goals from Jacques Lamoureux and Harry Mahesh a minute and a half apart from eachother to tie the game at three. But in the closing seconds of the third period Dustin Skinner would get the game winning goal with 4.8 seconds left on the clock to seal the victory for Port Huron. Andy Dicristofaro would make 32 saves on 35 shots and Brent Troyan a much better performance in goal as he would make 41 saves on 45 Prowler shot attempts but it comes in a losing effort once again as the Demolition have now lost 7 in a row without gaining a single point in the standings since Dec 18th.

Danbury Battles Past Brewster, Wins 4-3 in Shootout
By Zak McGinniss
DANBURY, CT -- With two wins in their last two games, the Danbury Titans took the ice to renew their rivalry with the visiting Brewster Bulldogs. Coming off a 9-5 victory last night against the Berlin RiverDrivers, the Titans were without their two leading scorers as Tyler Gjurich and Ryan Patsch both earned call ups to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. Making his first start for the Danbury Titans was Austin Lefkowitz, replacing the injured Mike Peerless. Danbury would skate away with a 4-3 shootout victory in a game that only seemed to serve as a distraction between multiple fights.
The first period was marked by intense physicality, hard hitting, and the beginnings of game that would require additional room on the scoresheet for penalties. John Scorcia would score first for the Danbury Titans, deflecting a Phil Bronner shot for a power play goal, his 10th goal of the season. Trystan Lysko attempted the first fight of the night but did not find a willing partner after dropping his gloves, instead incurring an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Phil Bronner and Nickolai Oklolbistyn would square off for the first proper fight at the 12:04 mark, followed by multiple altercations 35 seconds later, with Pat Harrison and Steve Brown exchanging punches. Brown and Sean Maktaak of Brewster also received 10 minute misconducts in an attempt to cool things off between the two teams. Trystan Lysko would tie it up for the Bulldogs with a power play goal of his own, knocking the puck out of the glove of Titans' goaltender Austin Lefkowitz before the whistle blew. Danbury would respond less than a minute later, as Phil Bronner would score his 17th of the season. Dean Yakura would connect for his 6th of the season with under a minute to play, assisted by Bryan Dallaire and Mike Driscoll. Danbury dominated offensively, outshooting the Bulldogs 14-3.
The Brewster Bulldogs came out of the locker room for the second period with a renewed jump in their step, scoring twice in the period. Sean Maktaak would score at the 11:22 mark, assisted by John Scully. Scully would factor into the next goal as well, making a strong breakout pass to captain Mike Zanella, who fed Zach Hale in the neutral zone. Making his way over the blueline, Hale sent a snap shot over the shoulder of Lefkowitz, catching the goaltender out of position and off guard. It would stand as the last goal in regulation, as the teams started to find themselves shorthanded with the penalty boxes occupied for most of the period. Aaron Atwell was assessed a double minor for charging, with Dustin Jesseau only receiving a minor for roughing after everyone came together following Atwell's hit on Zanella. The game took a turn for the ugly a minute and a half later, with Jarrett Rush for Danbury and Maktaak for Brewster both being ejected. The two first fought in front of the Brewster goal before being separated by the linesmen. As they were going to the penalty box, Rush responded to a taunt from MJ Graham with a spear to the midsection, followed by both Rush and Maktaak fighting their way through the referees to battle again in the referee's circle. For this, Rush received 4 minutes for roughing, 5 minutes for spearing, a 10 minute and game misconduct. Maktaak received 4 minutes for roughing along with identical misconducts. Brewster returned the favor to Danbury in the shot department, outshooting the Titans 13-3 in the period.
With the score tied entering the third, the Bulldogs offense evaporated as they were again limited to only 3 shots on goal. Another large fight occurred at with 7:47 remaining, resulting in 10 minute misconducts handed out to Pat Harrison and Trystan Lysko of Brewster, and captain Steve Brown of Danbury. Jeromy Semtner and Austin Lefkowitz stood tall, each perfect in the period.
Still tied at the end of regulation, the teams remained deadlocked for the full 5 minutes of overtime, with Danbury outshooting the Bulldogs 6-2. In the shootout, MJ Graham and John Scorcia traded goals first, followed by goals from Dean Yakura and Brett Liscomb to seal the game for the home team. Final shots on goal were 39-21 in favor of the Titans. Special teams were vital for the Bulldogs, as all three of their goals were scored on the powerplay. Danbury ended the game 1 for 7 with the man advantage, while Brewster finished 3 for 9. With a goal and the shootout winner, Dean Yakura was named first star of the game. With 1 goal and 2 assists Phil Bronner captured second star honors, and with 2 assists Brett Liscomb received the third star. The Danbury Titans will finish their weekend with their fourth game in as many days, hosting the Berlin RiverDrivers at 5:05pm at the Danbury Ice Arena.
