
Providence team seeks to finalize ownership group

Providence, RI. The ownership of the ABA's new expansion team in Providence, Rhode Island have announced that they are seeking to finalize their ownership group through the sale of interests in the team. "We have decided to use the next ten months to study, learn and prepare our team for entry into the 2007-2008 ABA season, " said team spokesperson, Ian McCarthy. "The first phase of that preparation is to add quality local individuals to our ownership group to ensure that it is strong."
Once the ownership group is finalized, the group will worth together with the City of Providence to establish a good venue and get the citizenry excited about the team. "We have already received tremendous interest not only from individuals who are interested into buying into the team, but also from fans who are ecstatic about the coming of the team and from former area college players who say they would love to come back to Providence to play."
