Providence News Release

Providence, RI. A spokespersopn for Providence, Rhode Island's new ABA expansion basketball team announced today that the organization has confirmed entry into the 2007-2008 season with the league.

"We were close to deciding whether or not to play in '06 but we'd rather be over-prepared and wise than under-prepared," stated Ian McCarthy. McCarthy indicated, however, that if the ownership group finalized much sooner than anticipated, there will be a small chance the team could still play this season. "We would love to do it," said McCarthy.

In just a few days, the team has already received a tremendous response from its previous announcement including calls, emails, resumes and local television and newspaper coverage. "This response confirms what we suspected - that Providence is ready for a professional basketball team," reiterated McCarthy.

Persons interested in becoming a part of the ownership group of the new Providence ABA team, please email team spokesperson, Ian McCarthy at imccarthy@nextel.blackberry.net for details or visit www.abalive.com.
