CHICAGO-The Chicago Sky has selected Prospect High School as the ninth "High School Team of the Week" winner for its 2015 competition. The team earned the honor after being nominated for outstanding efforts and achievements as a team and within the local community.

Competing in the Mid-Suburban East Conference, the Prospect Knights recently completed a record-setting regular season. The Knights went 10-0 in conference play for the first time since 2001 to win the division title. The team also tied a conference record for fewest points allowed per game, only giving up 34.5 points per game on the year. After a pair of tournament wins, the Knights ended the season with a record of 24-2, tying the Prospect High School record for the most wins in girls' basketball history. With a season of success already in the books, the Knights will look to keep it going as they enter the IHSA state playoffs.

Off the court, the Knights work together to make a positive impact in the community. During the holidays, the team held a food drive to benefit a pantry at a local church. After the food had been collected, the Knights donated their time to help stock and organize the pantry to provide meals and supplies for people in need.

Prospect High School joins Oswego High School, Luther North College Prep, Glenbard East High School, Beecher High School, J. Sterling Morton High School, Reavis High School, Benet Academy and Lyons Township High School as a 2015 award recipient. As a Chicago Sky "High School Basketball Team of the Week" award winner, the Prospect Knights are invited to enjoy a Chicago Sky game, where they will have the opportunity to watch the world's best female basketball players. At halftime of the game, the team will be honored at center court.

All teams that compete in IHSA class 1A, 2A, 3A or 4A competitions are eligible to win a weekly honor. Nominations from parents, coaches, school faculty members and players are welcome and should be completed on the Chicago Sky website (www.chicagosky.net) through March 11.

At the end of the 12-week program, each weekly winning team will be entered to win the "High School Team of the Year" award for 2015. The winner, determined through online voting, will be announced at halftime at a 2015 Chicago Sky game.
