Privateers Complete Week 2: Only Unbeaten Team in the FHL

The 1000 Islands Privateers completed their second week with a sweep of expansion franchise, Vermont Wild, 4-0. Veterans Paul Kelly and Michael Richard paved the way for the Privateers' consecutive victories.

The back to back match up began on Friday with a festive home opener at the Bonnie Castle Recreation Center in Alexandria Bay . 1057 spirited fans followed every moment of the Privateers' 10-4 victory over the Vermont Wild. Scoring was led by league leading scorer Justin Levac and veteran Paul Kelly, with two goals a piece.

On Saturday, the two teams squared up for the second time in FHL history with similar results. The Privateers' skated to a 4-0 victory, led by veteran Michael Richard's two goals, each with helpers from Paul Kelly.

After four games, the Privateers remain the only unbeaten team in the Federal Hockey League. Returner Justin Levac is the league's scoring leader with fourteen points. In fact, four Privateers share a spot amongst the top ten scoring leaders in the Federal Hockey League. Known for their offense in this young season, the Privateers appear to have chemistry and momentum going into next week's rematch with Danville, followed by back to back challenges with rival Akwasasne Warriors.

The 1000 Islands Privateers will host the Danville Dashers for the first time at the Bonnie Castle Rec Center on Thursday at 7:05 pm. On Friday, the Privateers will see the Akwasasne Warriors for the first time when the Warriors host the first of two consecutive match ups; The two rivals will rematch on Saturday for what promises to be a spirited match up at the Bonnie Castle Rec Center at 7:05 pm.
