The Princeton Rays knocked off the Bristol Pirates, 5-1, on August 20 at Hunnicutt Field. The Rays scored first with one run in the second inning, one in the seventh, and three in the eighth. The Pirates had their only run in the seventh. Noel Rodriguez got the win for the Rays and Marek Minarik took the loss for Bristol.
In the Appalachian League East, Princeton is second at 32-24 behind Pulaski. In the West, the Pirates are fourth at 25-26.
In the second inning, Princeton's David Rodriguez scored from a double by Bill Pujols. In the seventh, Bristol scored their only run from a home run by Carlos Munoz. The Rays scored one run in the seventh as Kewby Meyer made it home from a single by Peter Maris. Princeton put three more runs on the board in the eighth. Rodriguez scored from a single by Angel Perez. David Olmedo-Barrera and Perez made it home off of a double by Pujols.
