American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
It's a battle of the top two teams in the North Division starting today, as Jose Offerman and the Birdgeport Bluefish come to Nashua for a critical late first-half series as the Pride try to wrap up the crown with time to spare.
Nashua has taken 4 out of 6 vs. Bridgeport thus far in 2003, and this is the first time that the teams have played in New Hampshire this year. Currently, the 35-18 Pride lead the 29-24 Bluefish by 6 games with 10 to play, making the Pride's magic number 4. Should Nashua win two games in the series, they would clinch the first-half crown and a playoff spot. Tonight at 6:05 PM, 4W-1L Carlos Chantres goes for the Pride against 5W-3L Masaru Imazeki for the 'Fish.
Tomorrow and Tuesday's games are Family Nights, four tickets for just $20

In case you missed it, the first post-game fireworks show of the year was last Friday, June 27th, and the Pride and the Riversharks put on some fireworks of their own...it was a back and forth affair, and when the Pride went into the ninth leading 6-5, all seemed right with the world until Lipso Nava smacked a 2-out homer to center to tie the game and send the contest into extra innings. That was when DJ Boston made himself the hero in the tenth, smacking a 3-run homer (his second HR on the night) out of the park to left field, winning the game and sending the crowd of 3,000-plus into an absolute frenzy. The fireworks show certainly was a perfect capper for an amazing night.
(On a personal note, I have seen the Big Three Celtics play back in the day, I saw Bruins-Canadiens playoff hockey at the Old Garden, I saw Roger Clemens pitch against Nolan Ryan, I saw the Revs in MLS Cup in front of over 60,000 fans at the Razor, and I was at the Pats 'Snow Bowl'...and Friday night's Pride-Sharks game was one of the most awesome sporting spectacles I have ever witnessed)
