May 24, 2008 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
(NASHUA, N.H.) Brockton left fielder Jud Thigpen's two-run homer off of Pride starting pitcher Nicolas Suero in the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie, and was enough to give Brockton their second win of the season.
Nashua's Sandy Almonte continued his hot start for the Pride, picking up a pair of hits, an RBI, and a run scored in the loss.
Rox starting pitcher Wayne Lundgren earned the win and was superb, going seven innings and holding Nashua to just two unearned runs on six hits, while walking one and striking-out three.
Suero suffered the loss, despite a solid performance, pitching seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, walking three and striking-out four batters.
The Pride will close out their four game home-and-home series with the Rox on Sunday afternoon at Campanelli Stadium, a 1:05pm first pitch. Nashua native Reid Willet is scheduled to start for the Pride. John Kelly will get the ball for the Pride.
The Nashua Pride Professional Baseball Club, entering its 11th season, provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The 2007 Can-Am League Champions will be participating in its third year of play in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball.
