In game one of a doubleheader Quebec broke a 2-2 tie in their final at bat when 2B Josh Colafemina singled to score LF Alex Nunez. Nunez had reached on an error to lead off the inning and advanced on a single and a wild pitch. Reliever Jason Schutt picked up the win as he threw a scoreless seventh. CF Goefrey Tomlinson had a solid game offensively finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Atlantic City 6, Quebec 1 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

In game two of a doubleheader Atlantic City earned a split with a 6-1 decision. Adam Cox went five strong innings allowing only four hits and one run while Anthony Granato sparked the offense from the leadoff spot. The Atlantic City shortstop went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two batted in. 1B Joe Burke had a good game as well finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored. The Surf blew open a 1-1 tie with a five run fifth inning that included two singles and two doubles, one by C William Plaza and the other by CF Lucas Taylor. Quebec's Kevin Beavers surrendered all five runs in his five innings of work and dropped to
0-1.

Worcester 5, Sussex 0

Junior Guerrero allowed just two hits in five innings pitched and Worcester scored three times in the top of the fifth inning to defeat Sussex 5-0. CF Scott Grimes, LF Francisco Caraballo, and SS Charles Jeroloman collected six of Worcester's 10 hits in the ballgame. Leading 1-0 with two men on in the fifth inning C Alex Trezza singled home Grimes to make it 2-0 before an error plated the third run of the contest. RF Rico Santana followed with an RBI single to give the Tornadoes a 4-0 cushion. Sussex 3B Jay Yaconetti had two of Sussex's five hits in the game. Skyhawks starter Michael Rogers allowed four runs and suffered the loss to fall to 0-1.

Brockton 4, Nashua 2

Brockton won their home opener 4-2 over Nashua as LF Jud Thigpen's sixth inning homer broke a 2-2 tie. The blast to left field was Thigpen's first of the season. The Rox got a fine outing from starting pitcher Wayne Lundgren who completed seven innings in which he allowed two earned runs on five hits for his first win of the season. Jerry Dunn had a perfect ninth inning for the save. 2B Melvin Falu and CF Ervin Alcantara each contributed two hits and an RBI for Brockton. Nashua SS Sandy Almonte and 2B Ismael Castro each went 2-for-3 with a run scored in a losing effort.

New Jersey 6, Ottawa 1

New Jersey got offensive production from up and down their lineup to pile up 13 hits in a 6-1 victory over Ottawa. Juan Done earned his first win of the year by surrendering just three hits in six scoreless innings. Leading 1-0 after four innings the Jackals added single runs in the fifth and six innings plus two in the seventh inning to pull away from the Rapidz. 2B Marcus Sanders went 2-for-4 and drove in a run in the fifth inning run with a double and another run in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly. Every Jackals starter but one finished the game with a hit. Orlando Trias allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings and took the loss.
