NASHUA PRIDE-LONG ISLAND DUCKS GAME STORY
(Nashua, NH) Long Island's Donny Leon stroked a two-run double in the seventh inning off Nashua reliever Colin Young to lift the Ducks to a 6-4 victory over the Pride Tuesday night at Historic Holman Stadium. Leon's hit erased a 4-3 deficit and put Long Island ahead to stay. A leadoff home run in the ninth inning by Long Island's Carlos Hernandez, his fourth, gave the Ducks (16-16, 47-55) their margin of victory.
Nashua (19-12, 62-39) took the lead in the fifth inning on a two-run homer by Jimmy Hurst, his 17th of the season. The Hurst blast came off Long Island starter Luis Arroyo (4-7) who won his third straight decision since joining the Ducks, his second against the Pride. Mike Crudale worked a perfect ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.
Young suffered the loss for Nashua to fall to 5-2.
Long Island shortstop Juan Lorenzo belted a solo home run in the second inning, his second of the season. Lorenzo was later ejected from the game for arguing a close call at first base in the eighth inning.
The Pride and the Ducks resume their three-game series Wednesday night at 6:35 PM. The Atlantic League's top winner, Denny Harriger (RHP, 12-5, 3.84) will be on the mound for Nashua with Justin Lamber (LHP, 7-2, 3.97) scheduled to pitch for Long Island.
The Nashua Pride play their home game at Historic Holman Stadium, New England's most beautiful ballpark. For more information contact Ken Cail, Pride media relations director at (603) 860-1844.
