American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

The Nashua Pride announced that tickets for the 2003 Atlantic League playoffs go on sale at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 6th. The Pride have already qualified for the playoffs by virtue of their 2003 North Division first-half championship. Pride ticket package holders have first right of refusal on playoff tickets. They have until August 5th to reserve their seats before the tickets go on sale to the general public.

Individual reserved seats will be $10 each, while individual club seats will be $14 each. Group discounts will also be available for groups of 20 or more, and the same group rate that applies to Pride regular season tickets will apply to the playoff tickets as well. Picnic groups of 25 or more will also be available, again at the same rate as the Pride's regular season picnic ticket option.

The Pride will conclude the regular season on Sunday, September 14th. The best-of-three first round of the playoffs begin for the Pride with Game One on Tuesday, September 16th on the road, and will return home for Game Two on Wednesday, September 17th at 7:05 PM. If necessary, Game Three will be played at Holman Stadium on Thursday, September 18th at 7:05 PM.

Should the Pride advance to the best-of-five Championship Series, the first two games will be held on the road on September 19th and 20th, while games three through five (games four and five if necessary) will be played at Holman Stadium September 21st through 23rd, each game starting at 7:05 PM. Note that should the September 22nd and 23rd games be played, they will not be Pride Family Nights, therefore the regular season Monday and Tuesday Family Night discount will not apply. A full explanation of the entire playoff ticket policy including early elimination and exchanges is available on NashuaPride.com, as is info on the entire Pride experience; merchandise, appearance schedule, player photos, stats and more.

MURRAY HITS 100

Pride All-Star OF Glenn Murray found his homerun stroke again, finally belting his 100th career Atlantic League homer in the seventh inning of a 7-6 Pride loss to the Camden Riversharks on July 24th in Camden. Murray is the Atlantic League's all-time leading home run hitter, and his feat comes at a busy time of record setting in the league. Bridgeport Bluefish pitchers Tim Cain and Mike Guilfoyle have also recently set league marks in career wins and saves, respectively. Cain set the record for wins with a 4-3 victory over the Atlantic City Surf, Cain won his 46th career Atlantic League game, while Guilfoyle recently recorded his 100th save.

AROUND THE LEAGUE

The St. Louis Cardinals purchased the contract of former Ducks pitcher Pedro Borbon, Jr. from Triple-A Memphis on July 28th to take Lance Painter's (15-day DL) spot on the Major League roster. Following current Arizona Diamondback Carlos Baerga (Ducks 2001), Borbon will become the second player in Long Island history to make it back to the big leagues after playing for the Ducks. The call to the majors came just five days after Borbon's contract was purchased by Memphis from Long Island. Borbon pitched 1.0 inning on the same day he was recalled, giving up two hits and no runs in a 3-0 loss to Pittsburgh.
