Preview: Storm Ready for Road Battle against Rival Lancers

Ralston, NE. - The Tri-City Storm return to action tonight in a road battle against rival Omaha. On Sunday, the Storm defeated the Lancers 3-2 in overtime to clinch the inaugural Corn Cup. Following tonight's road game against Omaha, Tri-City returns home to the Viaero Center on Halloween for its final game of the 2020 Corn Cup against the Lincoln Stars. Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased at www.StormHockey.com or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop for tonight's road game against the Lancers is set for 7:05pm.

Tri-City (4-0-0-0) defeated the Omaha Lancers 3-2 in overtime on Sunday at the Viaero Center to remain perfect in the 2020 Corn Cup. Guillaume Richard scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give Tri-City the victory. Sam Rhodes and Nikolai Mayorov also netted goals for the Storm in the win. Goaltender Ryan Ouellette made 17 saves on 19 shots to record the win in net. Guillaume Richard (3), Victor Czerneckianair (2), Drew Montgomery, Nikolai Mayorov, Davis Burnside, Sam Rhodes, Isac Jonsson, Caden Villegas, Morgan Winters, Nichoals Donato, Cole McWard, Vinny Borgesi, and Mason Wheeler have all scored goals for Tri-City in the opening four games of the 2020 Corn Cup. Ryan Ouellette, Todd Scott, and Grant Riley have all recorded wins in net for the Storm. Tri-City has outscored its opponents 16-6 and has outshot its opponents 143-84 through four games. Tri-City has scored first in all four games and has never trailed at any point.

Omaha (2-1-1-0) will play its first home game of the 2020 Corn Cup tonight at Ralston Arena. The Lancers will play three consecutive home games to end the preseason following four consecutive road games in this year's Corn Cup. Tyler Carpenter and Noah Carlin each netted goals in Omaha's road loss to the Storm on Sunday. Arseni Sergeyev recorded the loss in net after making 28 saves on 31 shots. Tyler Carpenter (4) has scored more goals than any other player in the USHL to this point in the 2020-2021 preseason. Carpenter (4), Zakary Karpa (2), Nolan Renwick (2), Noah Carlin, Alex Gaffney, Hunter McDonald, and Matt Basgall have all scored goals for Omaha through the opening four games of the Corn Cup. Following tonight's game, the Lancers will host the Lincoln Stars tomorrow in the team's final game of the 2020 Corn Cup. Omaha will complete its seven-game preseason schedule against Sioux City on Sunday at Ralston Arena.
