Storm Acquire 2021 Phase II Draft Pick in Transaction

October 29, 2020 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Tri-City Storm News Release

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm has acquired an 8th Round draft pick in this year's USHL Phase II draft from the Sioux Falls Stampede in exchange for forward Sam Rhodes. Rhodes scored four goals and recorded six assists in thirty-two games played with the Storm during the 2019-2020 season.

Sam Rhodes, 20, Forward, of Powhatan, Virginia was added to Tri-City's roster on November 13th, 2019 following one hundred and thirty-three games played from 2017-2019 with the Barrie Colts (OHL). Rhodes scored twelve regular season goals and notched seven assists during his time in major junior hockey. Prior to his time in major junior hockey with the Barrie Colts, Rhodes spent the 2016-2017 season with the Skipjacks Hockey Club in York, Pennsylvania. He netted five goals and notched ten assists in nineteen games played. Rhodes also previously skated for the Richmond Generals 16U team in Richmond, Virginia. His first career USHL goal came on December 1st, 2019 in Tri-City's 6-3 road win over the Lincoln Stars. Rhodes scored a power play goal in the 2nd period and an even-strength goal in the 3rd period and was named the 1st Star of the Game.
