Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (4-0-6) hosts Nashville SC (3-2-4) for the first time ever at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Highmark Stadium. The clubs have already met once this season, drawing nil-nil in the expansion side's inaugural home opener in March.
GAME NOTES
Wednesday's match will be the penultimate in a stretch of six games in 18 days for the Hounds. The run will conclude with a date on Saturday in Richmond before Pittsburgh gets a two-week break from play.
While still unbeaten in league action and off to their best start in club history, the Hounds have registered draws in three straight matches, last winning on May 5. The club's scoring well at home has dried up considerably as well, with three of its four times being shutout this season occurring at Highmark Stadium, including two straight coming against Indy (May 11) and Penn FC (May 26).
Neither club should expect to find much offense come tomorrow though, as Pittsburgh and Nashville have combined for 12 clean sheets to date. The Hounds' mark of seven, through the combined efforts of goalkeepers Dan Lynd and Kyle Morton, is tied for the league lead, while Nashville's Matt Pickens has netted all five for his club and is tied for the conference lead among keepers. Additionally, Pittsburgh has yet to concede a goal at home through six matches in league play.
On an individual note, the Hounds will see the return of two familiar faces on the opposition in midfielder Lebo Moloto and defender Taylor Washington. Moloto, who spent two seasons with Pittsburgh from 2015-16, tallied seven goals and eight assists across 51 appearances. Washington played last season with the Hounds, leading the backline with 29 appearances. Tomorrow night's match will mark the first time either has played at Highmark Stadium since last wearing Black and Gold.
Off the pitch, the club will be honoring all members of the armed forces for Military Appreciation Night. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at Riverhounds.com.
