OKC Energy FC (12-6-7) looks to get back on track after a 2-0 loss to Real Monarchs SLC (5-13-8) at Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City last Wednesday. After going undefeated in nine games, OKC suffered a shutout loss for the first time since July 1. With 43 standings points, Energy FC is currently atop the USL's Western Conference table, one point ahead of second-place LA Galaxy II. Energy FC became the first Western Conference team to secure a playoff berth last Saturday, after the club defeated the Austin Aztex 2-0 and Orange County Blues FC downed Portland Timbers 2. The playoff berth is the first in OKC history.

After being the first player to tie the USL goals in a season mark of 20 set by Kevin Molino in 2014, OKC forward Danni Konig was passed for the league lead by Louisville City FC's Matt Fondy, after Fondy netted a hat trick against the Harrisburg City Islanders minutes before OKC's game against the Real Monarchs. Though Fondy was the first to break Molino's record, a trio of players are in position to set the record before the end of the season, including Konig with 20 goals and Pittsburgh's Rob Vincent with 18.

Energy FC goal keeper Evan Newton registered his ninth shutout of the 2015 season last Saturday, leaving him two shy of the current league lead of 11 held by Rochester keeper Brandon Miller. The USL record for shutouts in a season is 11.

OKC has three remaining matches, including a Sept. 12 home match against third-place Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Just five points separate the top six teams in the Western Conference.
