Preview: Comets Put Undefeated Season on the Line against the Milwaukee Wave

INDEPENDENCE, MO - The undefeated Missouri Comets (7-0) return to the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for their third home game this season when they host longtime rivals Milwaukee Wave (2-2) in the first of three meetings between both sides this season. The match, which will kick off at 7:35 p.m. CT will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast and in-game updates can be followed on Twitter at @CometsMASL.

In order to honor all veterans and first responders, the Comets will be wearing special edition jerseys, which will be auctioned throughout the game. Fans are encouraged to stay on their seats during halftime as festivities will include a special performance from internet sensation Dontarius Young. Also, Cars 4 Heroes will surprise a veteran with a free car.

Coach Vlatko Andonovski's team is coming from back-to-back road wins at St. Louis and Cedar Rapids as well as regular season winning streak of 31 games. On the other hand, Milwaukee kicked off the 2015/16 MASL season with two wins and two losses.

The Comets will be without goalkeeper Stephen Paterson, defender Alain Matingou and midfielder Max Touloute due to injuries. Also, midfielder Travis Pittman and Missouri mutually agreed on terminating his contract earlier this week.

Milwaukee and the Comets have will meet twice later this season when the Wave visits Missouri again on January 2 before hosting the Comets at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Valentine's Day. Both teams have squared off a total of 22 times with the All-time series tied 11-11.

Team captain Vahid Assadpour, who earned his second consecutive Team of the Week honors, leads the league with eight goals and 15 assists for a total of 23 points. League MVP Leo Gibson, forward Ramone Palmer and Touloute are in the MASL's leaders top six. Milwaukee is led by Max Ferdinand with nine points.
