Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Rampage (0-4) look to record their first franchise victory as they take on the Chicago Mustangs (3-2) tomorrow night at the US Cellular Center in downtown Cedar Rapids. The match begins at 7:05 p.m.
The Rampage are coming off of a 9-3 loss to the perennial Major Arena Soccer League powerhouse Missouri Comets. In last weekend's match against Missouri, the Rampage fell behind early on three Comets goals, scored by forward Leo Gibson, midfielder Bryan Perez and defender Robert Palmer. Cedar Rapids tied the game up on three goals by forwards Neto, Hewerton and defender Sam Guernsey before allowing Missouri to score six unanswered goals to end the game. Rampage goalkeeper Joey Kapinos stopped 28 of 36 shots for a 77-percent save percentage.
Through four games, the Rampage have been led by Neto and Hewerton. Both forwards have scored eight points; Neto tallying six goals and two assists while Hewerton has notched three goals and five assists. Rampage forward Alex Megson (four assists) and defender Patrick Kelly each have three goals. Through three games, Kapinos has recorded 89 saves out of 122 shots against for a 73% save perctenage.
Chicago enters tomorrow's match after defeating the St. Louis Ambush 9-5 last weekend in Chicago. The Mustangs have been led by forward Wilo Martinez, who has notched four goals and six assists through five games. Chicago forward Alexis Camarena and midfielder Taylor Bond have each scored five goals. Mustangs goalkeeper Jesus Flores has logged 276 minutes, recording 77 saves on 106 shots against for a 72.6 save percentage.
