Gurson Makes All-MASL Third Team

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - Cedar Rapids Rampage midfielder Gordy Gurson was voted All-MASL Third Team today when the Major Arena Soccer League announced its All-MASL Second and Third Teams as well as Honorable Mention. Each team in the MASL was invited to submit a vote from their General Manager or Head Coach for the MASL post-season awards.Gurson set Rampage single-season records with 30 goals and 49 points. He also set a personal career-best with 19 assists. He finished 6th in the MASL in points, 5th in goals, and tied for 9th in assists. His four game-winning goals tied him for 4th in the league.
"I am honored to receive this award but this doesn't happen if it weren't for my teammates," said Gurson. "More guys deserve to be recognized for the effort this team put in this season. No matter what, through thick and thin, guys stuck together this season and I truly believe we became a family."
Gurson just completed his third season with the Rampage. The four year veteran wore the captain's arm band and showed great leadership despite being one of the game's bright young stars at just 25 years of age.
"I can't say enough about how much Gordy has meant to this team," said Rampage General Manager Chris Kokalis. "He really stepped up his game in the second half of this season and helped carry us into the playoffs."
