Pro Debut for Panicco

On Friday night, Elliot Panicco made his debut in the Austin Bold starting eleven. It wasn't only his debut for The Bold but also his debut as a professional. Panicco joined Austin Bold on loan from Nashville SC, where he was selected No. 13th overall in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft and instantly showed his quality.

After the match, Panicco spoke on a special occasion.

"It was great to get my first professional game, I'm very thankful to the coaching staff and Austin Bold as a whole for the opportunity. I thought the guys in front of me played well and made it easy for me to step in for my first game. Although we are disappointed to not get all three points, we are glad to have gotten at least one and are ready to get all three at home this coming Wednesday."

Leading by Example

Xavi Baez scored his first goal of the 2021 season, but his impact on the club goes beyond his additions to the scoreboard. The midfielder is an essential leader in the locker room and is respected by his teammates. With over 200 appearances for Liga MX powerhouse Chivas, Baez regularly passes on his experience to the younger players on the roster. Head Coach Serrano spoke about what Baez means to the team after last Friday's game. "His leadership qualities are amazing. He's highly respected amongst everyone in the group and he's such a humble leader that leads by example. He just puts in the work every day. He shows up in games when it matters the most and today's was one of those days."

Which Monarchs Will We See?

Last Friday, Real Monarchs added five players on loan from Real Salt Lake for the game, and those players came up big. StrikerJeizon Ramirez scored the Monarchs' sole goal, and Goalkeeper Zac McMath was vital in keeping the match level in stoppage time by denying both Owayne Gordon and Emilio Ycaza. Will we see those players traveling with the squad to Austin? This is yet to be seen, but their additions can change the outcome of tomorrow's match. The impact of those loanees is significant. That doesn't the permanent Monarchs squad isn't well put together. The roster is stacked with Utah talent like Bode Davis and international signings like Ibrahim Bance. The front office also brought in players with USL Championship experience like Malik Johnson.
