PREVIEW | Minnesota United Returns Home to Face Rayo OKC
September 2, 2016 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
Minnesota United FC News Release
SAINT PAUL, Minn.-- Coming off a scoreless draw in Fort Lauderdale, United returns to National Sports Center Stadium Saturday night to square off against Rayo OKC for the first time ever at home. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. CDT - fans can watch all the action live on My29 locally and beIN Sports nationally.
Minnesota United was held scoreless for the second time in three matches last Saturday, with both scoreless bouts coming in the Florida heat. The Loons drew 0-0 with both Jacksonville Armada and Fort Lauderdale Strikers over the past two weeks. United has often found its scoring boots at home however, and Saturday should give the home fans something to cheer about.
United defense has been stingy as of late, holding opponents to just one goal over the past four matches - the lone goal coming on the road against The Miami FC. United hopes to maintain its defensive momentum on Saturday while hoping to add tallies in the goal column.
The last time United faced Rayo OKC was on the road, a 2-2 draw that saw both teams scoring in added time. Goals from Justin Davis and Christian Ramirez helped earn the Loons a point. United's attack may see a boost on Saturday with the return of both Kevin Venegas and Stefano Pinho, who had both been sidelined with knee injuries. Each player saw limited action against Fort Lauderdale.
Come cheer on the Loons this Saturday at National Sports Center Stadium - purchase tickets by calling 763.4SOCCER or visiting mnunitedtickets.com.
