
Preds Sign Antigo Native, UW Alum Joe Piskula

Milwaukee, WI - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed defenseman Joe Piskula to a one-year, two-way contract.
Piskula was acquired by the Predators from Calgary on Feb. 28, 2013, and split last season between Abbotsford and Milwaukee, posting 10 points (2g-8a) and 51 penalty minutes in 46 games for the Heat and four points (1g-3a) and 15 penalty minutes in 23 games for the Admirals. The Antigo, Wis., native has 10 career NHL games to his credit - five with Calgary in 2011-12 and five with Los Angeles in 2006-07. The 6-3, 214-pound blueliner has also played 393 AHL games in six seasons at the level, amassing 74 points (9g-65a) and 335 penalty minutes.
Piskula played 112 games during a three-year career at the University of Wisconsin from 2004-07, posting 22 points (3g-19a) and 80 penalty minutes. In 2006, he helped the Badgers claim the NCAA title.
