Orlando Predators News Release

Orlando, Fla. (Feb. 23) - With one day left in training camp, the Orlando Predators made one roster move - releasing defensive back Nick Allison. The move left the Predators with 27-players on their roster.

By Arena Football League rule, Orlando must be down to a league maximum 24 players by Monday- but most likely will announce several other transactions to become salary cap compliant. The team will announce its final roster decisions on Sunday.

Allison was competing with Micheaux Robinson, Floyd Young, Ryan Bowers and Rayshun Reed for one of the three or four open roster spots at defensive back. He played two seasons in Daytona Beach in the American Indoor Football League where he recorded 27 interceptions over two seasons. He was signed by the Predators after attending an Open Tryout Camp in October.

"Nick's a solid player who just got caught up in a numbers game," Predators head coach Jay Gruden said. "Hopefully he'll have a chance to continue his career in the Arena Football League or with some other professional league."

The Predators will conclude 2007 training camp today (Saturday) with 10 a.m. practice. The workout is part of the Predators 6th annual Season Ticket Pick-up Party at Thunder Field, which is being help from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Season ticket holders are invited to attend.

Orlando opens the 2007 season on Friday, Mar. 2 on the road against Tampa Bay. The home opener is Monday, Mar. 12 against the Los Angeles Avengers. Season and single game tickets are available by calling 407-44-PREDS.
