ORLANDO - On Wednesday, Orlando Predators defensive back Kenny McEntyre (5-10, 180, Kansas State) was named the recipient of the 2011 Al Lucas AFL Pulse Award for the second time in his AFL Hall of Fame career.

In his final season in the Arena Football League, McEntyre earned the award by devoting himself to both his team and the community.

McEntyre's charity work has been a staple in the Orlando community, while also branching out to raise money for the Alabama Relief Fund and victims of similar hardships. After retirement, McEntyre pledged to give back to the community by focusing his charity work on children without parents. During his AFL career, which began in Orlando in 1998, McEntyre frequently worked with charities and helped communities develop and prosper.

The award is named after the late Al Lucas, a 6-foot-1, 300-pound lineman who suffered a spinal cord injury during a game in 2005 before passing away at the age of 26. Lucas spent one season with the Tampa Bay Storm and two with the Los Angeles Avengers.

McEntyre first received the Al Lucas Award upon its inaugural presentation in 2006.
