Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. (May 26) -- As the Orlando Predators began preparations for this weekend's key season-ending game with Los Angeles, Head Coach Jay Gruden continued to refine his 24-man roster.

On Wednesday, Gruden activated from injured reserve and then waived OL/DL Josh McKibben and also waived lineman Shawn King. McKibben, who starred at the University of Central Florida and played briefly with the Tampa Bay Bucs, signed with the Predators during week four of the regular season. He played guard and defensive tackle and also filled in at center when Justin Cleveland was injured. He played in five games, making 1.5 tackles and recording one quarterback sack.

McKibben spent the last five weeks on the Predators injured reserve list and was also inactive for two games.

King was signed last week as a replacement for Jermaine Smith, who has missed four games with a knee injury. He played in the New York game last week, seeing action on both sides of the ball. He did not record any defensive statistics. Smith, who ranks in the top five in the Arena Football League in sacks with seven, returned to practice this week but is still listed as questionable for this weekend's game.

"We see how the rest of practice goes this week and make final decisions on Friday," Gruden said. "We are going to need to take our healthiest, best eight linemen to Los Angeles."
