
Pre-Season Tickets On Sale Monday

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce tickets for the teams only pre-season home game will go on sale Monday, September 23rd.
The K-Wings will host their arch-rivals the Fort Wayne Komets at Wings Stadium on Friday, October 4th. Game time at Wings Stadium is set for 7:30 pm. All tickets for the pre-season game will be $5 reserve seats.
"We wanted to offer a special price to get our fans back into the hockey spirit," said Vice President/General Manager Paul Pickard. "This will be our fans first chance to see their team this season, and to renew our rivalry with Fort Wayne."
The K-Wings and the Komets are no strangers to one another. Their rivalry dates back to the 1974-75 season, when both teams where a member of the former International Hockey League (IHL).
The October 4th, contest will kick off a pre-season home and home series between the teams. The two teams will conclude their home and home series the following night, when the K-Wings travel to Fort Wayne.
Both games can be heard on the "new" K-Wings Radio Network. The radio network is comprised of WLKM 95.9 FM (Three Rivers), WQSN 1660 AM (Kalamazoo), and WRCC 1400 AM (Battle Creek). Anchoring the K-Wings broadcast this season will be the "Voice of the K-Wings" Mike Modugno. With the creation of the radio network, the K-Wings will have the ability to reach 2 million listeners a night. Coverage of all games will start 15-minutes prior to face-off with the Basic Communications Pre-Show, and conclude with the Puck Masters Post Game Show.
In the next few weeks, the Kalamazoo Wings will announce a release date for the sale of all regular season home game tickets. Kalamazoo starts the 2002-2003 season on the road on Friday, October 11th against the Port Huron Beacons. The K-Wings home opener will be on Saturday, October 19th, against the Flint Generals. The game will coincide with K-Wings Fan Fest, which will be a festival the day of the game at Wings Stadium celebrating the new season, as well as the thanking all K-Wing fans.
