
Prather Scores 25 in Loss to Warriors

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Casey Prather scored 25 points and dished out seven assists, but the Bakersfield Jam (34-16) fell to the Santa Cruz Warriors (35-15) 113-99 Saturday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. Bakersfield finishes the regular season with a 34-16 record and will enter the 2015 NBA D-League Playoffs as the #3 seed in the Western Conference.
The Jam got off to a slow start to the game, shooting just 36.4 percent from the floor and falling behind 33-19 after one quarter of play. The struggles continued in the second frame, as Bakersfield was unable to slow down Santa Cruz's offensive attack.
The Warriors stretched their lead to as many as 32 points in the third and went into the final frame with a 98-68 lead. The Jam stormed out to an 11-3 run to start the fourth and had their deficit down to 14 points (103-89) at the 6:19 mark. Despite a valiant effort to get in striking distance, Bakersfield was unable to overcome their deficit.
Xavier Munford had 18 points, six assists and five rebounds, while Alec Brown tallied 12 points. Renaldo Major and Jamil Wilson each scored 10 points.
Ognjen Kuzmic, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, led Santa Cruz with a game-high 30 points and seven rebounds. Elliot Williams added 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Darington Hobson recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bakersfield Jam will face the Austin Spurs in the first round of the NBA D-League Playoffs. Bakersfield will host Game 1 of the best-of-three series on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. PT inside the Dignity Health Event Center. The matchup will air live on ESPNU.
